We shot Jan-May 2018 on "Wynonna Earp" Season 3 in Calgary for 12 Episodes with Production Sound Mixer "Mike Markiw". I got to work with some amazing gear and a microphone cabinet that would make any boom op envious. Sanken CS-3e, Sennheiser MKH50 and MKH40, Scheops mini CMIT, Scheops CMC6-U with Colette and Knuckle through a Lectrosonics HM into Mike's Cooper mixing board and the Sound Devices Pix 970.
Damnation 2nd Unit Production Sound Mixer
I was lucky enough to get hired for almost 5 weeks as 2nd Unit Production Sound Mixer and Splinter Unit Sound Mixer for the new "Damnation" TV Series. With Jefferey Murias as a boom operator with a Sanken CS3 and Sennheiser MKH50 on a wireless Lectrosonics HM, we were able to work as a team to film some major scenes in the series while operating up to 5 wireless lav's into the Sound Devices 633.
Kyle Pullan- Into the Wild Full Length Album
Completion of Kyle Pullan's full length album "Into the Wild". This was an incredibly fun project to work on with the amazing personality of Kyle Pullan's fingerstyle acoustic. Recorded using stereo Audio Technica 4050's in omni through a A-Designs Pacifica Pre-amp into an Empirical Labs Distressor to capture some very open sounding acoustic tracks. To add an interesting element to the album, I worked on sound design and used field recording from around the Bow Valley to transition the tracks and create a sonic journey.
the Raven and the Fox
Very happy to hear about the success of "the Raven and the Fox" self titled debut album. Produced by Geoff Hilhorst, engineered and mixed by myself, and mastered by Bova Mastering. Recorded at OCL Studios with Julie Chang on vocals, Sean Isaac on guitar, Matt Mueller and drums and Geoff Hilhorst on bass, keys and lap steel.
Mike Petroff Full Length Album
We have just started production and recording with the talented songwriter Mike Petroff in Canmore. Our first session was a long day recording bed tracks (Jeff Selimas-Drums, Geoff Hilhorst- Bass, Mike Petroff -Acoustic & Vocals, and Julie Lynx -Vocals) all live off the floor at OCL Studios in Langdon. We recorded 8 tracks of drums and captured a great live sounding feel for this folk album. In order to capture all of Mikes incredible stories, we recorded an additional 6 tracks at Rapunzels using Audio Technica 4050's in a mid-side configuration through our new A-Designs Pacifica Preamp, to capture acoustic and vocals at the same time and preserve Mikes performances. Additional sessions overdubbed trumpet sections for "Adios Alberta", and BG vocals from the talented Lori Reid.
Ted Talks Summit
Just finished up shooting for the Ted Talks Summit in Banff AB, with Ted members, organizers, educators and translators from all over the world. I was the Sound Recordist and Boom Operator for the week, recording interviews with some very interesting individuals. I was working with Glen Crawford Production Services and his Sony FS7 to capture some great footage of the event. Many interesting stories from all over and an the amazing Ted production team made for a great week of shooting in the Rockies.
Ross & Jen- Obviously Full Album
We've just completed and released Ross & Jen's 9 track album "Obviously". Recorded beds at the beautiful OCL Studios in Langdon AB, and completed overdubs at Rapunzels in Canmore AB. Produced by Geoff Hilhorst, we've completed mixing and received our final masters from Bova Sound in Ontario. Acoustic to electric tracks with incredible lyrics and duets from these two, the masters came back sounding amazing. Really excited to get our first full length album completed out of OCL, amazing sound through their Neve 88RS console!

Samm Bailey EP
We have just completed working on the debut Samm Bailey EP, completely recorded, mixed and mastered in the mountains of Canmore AB. Bed tracks recorded at Big Horn Sounds and overdubs recorded at Rapunzels for this 4 song rock EP. Working with Eddie Max (drummer), Mike Kragt (bass), Samm Bailey (guitar, vocals) and Geoff Hilhorst (organ, keys) to create "Hipsters", a rock based funk track, "Thinking of You", "Hold On Feeling", and "Mountain Song", a live off the floor outlaw- appalachian styled rock track.
